Carbon Emissions of the Construction Industry
Presented to Transition Brockville 24 March 2019
On March 24, 2019 we presented to Transition Brockville about the Carbon Emissions of the Construction Industry. With recent advancements in engineered wood products and mass timber it is possible to build mid rise and high rise buildings without using concrete or steel for the main structural system. Mass timber exhibits better fire resistance and earthquake resistance than their concrete and steel counter parts. Mass Timber construction also sequesters carbon and is a renewable resource if farmed and managed properly.
